Trivia

  • Before having the detective-noir setting the level was about the player blowing up several rock-formations using Bomber.
  • The citizen sitting by the lake makes a Bruce Lee reference.
  • There are two citizens talking about the case that suspect the missing Gatekeeper to be an evil Werebear. Their dialog is updated as soon as the player has found new clues and is a funny little detail that can easily be overlooked.
  • The suspicious smell of roses was the smell of cherries in the early versions of this level. That’s why the gardener talks about eating them from time to time.
  • The gatekeeper’s wife Miss Phyllis is named after Phyllis Dietrichson in Billy Wilder’s film noir classic Double Indemnity.
